Once again, we're going to use Jennifer Rambo as example and I'm just going to click on how social and the clinical in quality. So now you notice there's a recommendation tab and then when I click on it, notice that the two I manually set up as recommendation are listed above the common learner recommendation that's listed below. So that's one thing on the highlight. Second is if I click on recommended courses. Notice that the one that is being explicitly recommended using cross selling recommendation logic is displayed above the common learner, right? So what I want to highlight here is by setting up a cross selling recommendation, you are effectively doing two things. Notice is that when the user is inside this course, the recommendation is actually based on the cross selling for just this course of the user is looking at along with the common learners, whereas if the user click on the recommended, this is sort of in aggregate across all the courses. So if you have multiple cross selling for multiple courses and the user happen to take more than one of the course that has cross recommendation, all the cross recommendation is going to be listed at the top. So hopefully this makes sense. The most important takeaway from cross selling recommendation is that he carries a much heavier weight so that whatever a minister set up is going to always trump what the common learner recommends. With that said, it is very important for a minister to remember that in order to do cross selling recommendation, you have to set up all the cross selling recommendations. So in a way, the system is not going to set things up for you. And obviously a good use case is if you have a level one course and then when the user finish level one course, you don't want to run the risk to have common learner recommendation to tell the user to do level two. You want to explicitly tell Oasis, hey, when someone finish level one, please let them do level two. And also remember that the recommendation actually only kick in when the user finish. If the user hasn't finished, we actually don't recommend. And last but not least, if you have quite a bit of a relationship for cross selling, it's a little bit of a pain to go to each course to look for it. And the report, there's actually a report called related product. You can go here and they actually will tell you all the sort of the cross recommendation that you have set up so that just holistically you can take come over here and just remind yourself what you have set up. Thank you.
Video Summary
The transcript discusses setting up cross-selling recommendations in a learning system using Jennifer Rambo as an example. When setting recommendations, administrators can prioritize them above the common learner suggestions. Cross-selling provides targeted course suggestions once a user completes a prerequisite, ensuring they progress logically. This system requires manual setup by administrators, ensuring that recommendations align with course paths, such as completing a Level 1 course before moving to Level 2. The system also includes a report feature for managing cross-recommendations, offering an overview of all established recommendations for easier management.
